Thursday, September 17, 2009

The 2009 Staff Town Hall meeting sponsored by the Staff Advisory Council provided UA classified staff an opportunity to discuss any topic with UA President Robert Shelton in an open forum.  President Shelton opened the town hall by addressing the UA's continuing budget woes and the effect these woes have had on the campus.

Throughout the meeting, audience members were invited to the microphone to ask questions, while SAC members read inquiries submitted via Internet by employees unable to attend.

Many questions focused on low salaries in the wake of rising costs.  More from Lo Que Pasa...

The Staff Advisory Council works to foster and enhance communications between classified staff employees and the University community by defining the role of classified staff and making recommendations on existing and proposed UA policies and procedures. It also works to ensure inclusion of classified staff on University committees.
