ADVOCATS

Grassroots coalition of alumni, community and business leaders, students, parents and family members. Goal to engage elected leaders in Phoenix about the importance of the UA and why budget cuts would be unnecessary and drastic.

Childcare Information Request Committee

Committee to issue a Request for Information as a first step in deciding whether to issue a Request for Proposals for an on-site or near-site childcare center.

Classified Staff Council

Formerly called the Staff Advisory Council, exists to serve as an advocate and resource for classified staff and is part of shared governance in addition to APAC and Faculty Senate.

Employee Recognition Committee

Celebrates the accomplishments and successes of the university by helping acknowledge our brightest employees.

Faculty Senate

Focuses on a broad spectrum of policy issues, including academic personnel policies; instruction and curriculum policy; research policy; and student affairs policies; serves as a forum for communication and dialogue between the faculty and the University administration.

Naming Advisory Committee

The President forwards all proposals for honorary naming of any site on University property to the attention of the Naming Advisory Committee which, after review and deliberation, the forwards a written recommendation on each proposal to the President for further action.

Parking & Transportation (PTS)

Responsible for reviewing and recommending parking and transportation policy and regulations.

Recreation Advisory Committee

Purpose is to disseminate information to campus community about new areas and programs that Campus Recreation has to offer.

Shared Governance and Campus Community Advisory

Convened by President Hart to provide a platform to discuss and share information of importance to shared governance and the campus at large. Meets with the President every other week for one and a half hours. The APAC Chair serves as the APAC Representative on this group. No substitutes are allowed per committee organizers.

Shared Governance Review Committee (Faculty Senate)

Addresses issues regarding the implementation and functioning of the procedures contained in the Shared Governance Guidelines and Agreements, as may be entered into from time to time. Establishes and maintaines processes to: (1) review compliance with the agreement, (2) examine ways in which apparent breaches of the agreement can be addressed, and (3) consider possible extensions of the agreement. It is the body to which members of the University community can bring particular shared governance concerns, and it will also examine whether the agreement has been violated or is in need of clarification or modification.

SPBAC (Strategic Planning and Budget Advisory Committee)

In consultation and dialogue with the President, the Provost, and the University community, supports and enhances the success of the University through thoughtful and informed advice relating to: strategic planning, assessment of institutional priorities, review of budgetary policies, and the evaluation of programs and services. The SPBAC chair shall provide regular reports to the Faculty Senate.

Student Engagement Committee

Reviews non-credit experiences for undergraduates on campus to determine if they are worthy of an Engagement notation on students' transcripts. Serves in an advisory capacity to the Office of Student Engagement.

UA Cares

The University of Arizona's annual workplace giving campaign, providing UA employees with the opportunity to support UA services and programs and the broader community.

UA Employee Emergency Fund

Provides support to colleagues who face an unexpected, temporary financial hardship, such as rent, utilities, or other essential expenses, as a result of sudden illness, a family crisis, or a natural disaster. Awards are contingent on adequate contributions to the fund and the other requirements set forth within the application. Collaborates via email, reviews requests when they come in - variable time commitment required.

University Hearing Board

Comprised of students, faculty, and staff, body to which university delegates the authority and responsibility to conduct hearings for students accused of a violation of the student Code of Conduct and/or Code of Academic Integrity. University Hearing Boards function as university agents, and members must understand and observe the legal and professional requirements of confidentiality and ethical behavior.

UA Retirees Association

Promotes the interests and welfare of University of Arizona retirees, encourages continuing contact between retirees and the University, provides the means for interaction among retirees through a diversity of cultural, intellectual, and social programs.
